Confirmation of Payee (CoP) helps to prevent UK payments being sent to the wrong account and provides another layer of protection in the fight against fraud and scams, so opting out of CoP is only available in limited circumstances where it is needed to protect an account holder.

You or your customers may be able to opt out of details being checked by CoP when someone else is paying you or your customers. But CoP can’t be opted out of when paying someone else.

If you would like to opt out please reach out to [email protected] with the reason for your request to opt out. If one of your customers would like to opt out please reach out to us with the reason for their request to opt out and their account ID.

Opting back in to CoP can be done at anytime.

Please note, if you or your customer choose to opt out of CoP, when a person or business tries to pay you or your customer, they’ll get a message that the details can’t be checked which may prevent them from making the payment.
